Ljung 2.0

The project involved the expansion of a house in Höllviken, Skåne, Sweden, adding 110 square meters with a new design that integrates seamlessly with the existing structure. The extension features a roof clad in corrugated metal, complementing the untreated pine façade, creating a modern yet natural aesthetic. The connection between the old and new parts is marked by black metal, emphasizing the contrast between the two volumes. The new addition adopts a gable roof, while the original structure maintains its form, and together they form a C-shaped layout that defines a central courtyard. The older part of the house has also been renovated using the same materials as the extension, creating a unified design language throughout the property. This new addition opens up additional courtyards, including spaces at the front, center, and rear of the house, enhancing the connection between the interior and the surrounding landscape. Furthermore, two additional buildings—a sauna and a guest house—were added to the property, each designed to complement the main structure while providing functional outdoor spaces. This expansion not only increases the living area but also strengthens the relationship between the house and its environment, reflecting a harmonious balance between modernity and tradition.
